Ghosts of SAA 1999

At the 1999 SAA in San Francisco, I was riding the down escalator and saw a man with the nametag "Jonas Barish" riding by on the up escalator. The thing is: Jonas Barish died in 1998. Perhaps he loved the SAA so much that his spirit refused to leave this world and instead took to wandering around the lobbies of conference hotels every April; or perhaps he was haunting someone from a past seminar who had trashed his paper ("Barish, revenge!"). Either way, his ghost looked no different from the rest of the walking dead that frequent SAA.
